Velkommen. The Kadonuls are a species of forgotten memories. Once a memory is forgotten for good, it finds its way to the Void with many others like itself. Of these, a handful gain a corporeal form and take it upon themselves to guide other memories and dreams to prevent them from being forgotten like themselves.Kadonuls reside within the Void. No one knows how, when, or where the Void came into being, but some speculate that it is actually the domain of a higher power. The Void also houses the Huskling species - the official pets of the Kadonuls, and guardians of the Void. The only way to enter the Void is through a portal created by a Kadonul or Huskling.

KADONULS

Kadonuls is a closed species made by drakism@TH! Please do not make your own without permission!

Kadonuls ( kah - doh - nuhls ) are a humanoid species that is created by forgotten or lost memories. These memories, through a strong will or wish are able to take a coherent shape that mimics the human figure, with some minor adjustments. Hey, no one's perfect! No one knows where, or how the first Kadonuls appeared. Records seem to provide evidence that there was one, in the beginning. A special Kadonul, who was not born of memories, but instead of devotion to the ancient goddess of memories, Mimir. The rest, trickled in slowly to fill the emptiness that is the Void.As creatures created of memories, Kadonuls have the ability to control and guide other lost memories, memories that do not have a will of their own, and return them to their mortal owners. Lost memories tend to teeter on the edge between the Void and the human realm, and if they're not picked up by a Kadonul, they will find a home in the Lost Woods. In some drastic cases, a Kadonul will not be satisfied to be a forgotten memory forever, and will travel to the human realm. If the Kadonul finds the human they once belonged to, and tries to interfere with the human's memories, in any way that is violent, terrifying or otherwise harmful, their powers will be stripped from them by the will of Mimir. This is referred to as CORRUPTION, and renders the Kadonul useless in terms of their former duty as guardians of memories.

HUSKLINGS

Husklings is a semi-open species made by drakism@TH! Please do not make your own without permission!

Husklings ( who - sk - lings ) are cat/moth hybrids, and are slightly larger than the average house cat. Most are around 15 to 22 lbs and 10 to 16 inches tall, though some can be larger/smaller. They can be any breed of cat X moth, or of an entirely made up species. Husklings are a semi-open species, with the first one being free. Any additional pets will require a MYO, which can be won through raffles, traded with others, or purchased in the up and coming pet shop for void crystals.Husklings were originally placed in the void by Mirir, to act as guardians and housekeepers. They have been watching over the kadonuls, as they believed it was the goddess' will. When they realized that the kadonuls were thriving on their own, they decided to reveal themselves to work towards the kadonul's common goal. Keeping the delicate balance between memories, dreams, and the realm of the living. They live deep within the Lost Woods, and will help guide lost kadonuls and memories out of the woods, all without being seen of course. Sometimes, it's said that you can hear their chitter late at night, a series of clicks and whistles that they use to communicate. Some kadonuls are able to speak to Husklings by learning their language and speech patterns. As natural inhabitants of the Void, Husklings are able to open a portal to the Void from anywhere and travel to and from it with ease.Since Husklings are an official pet of the Kadonuls species, it is highly recommended to have a kadonul prior to owning or creating a huskling.

BEGYNDELSE

In the beginning, the void was not a place that could be called home. It was dark, gloomy, and a dangerous place to be without a source of light. When the Kadonuls started to settle in, they transformed this land into a habitable region with lights and cities. The Void is divided into three main sections, with each section sporting it's own subregions. But all three sections come together into one main city, called Begyndelse ( beh - guhn - nel - se ), or the Town of Beginnings. All portals opened outside the Void will redirect to Begyndelse. While you are able to travel to the other regions of the Void on foot, many Kadonuls will opt to use Shadow Travel instead. Shadow Travel is an ability exclusive to the Kadonuls species, in which they transform into their NULL forms and jump into the nearest shadow. The Kadonul will then be able to jump out of a shadow in the location they wish to be in. However, due to the nature of this ability, they cannot travel to places without shadows. Older Kadonuls may be able to jump short distances in their humanoid form though.Begyndelse is also where Dimitri and Rayne have set up shop, so stop by for all your Kadonul and Huskling needs!

LANDSBY

Landsby ( lahns - buhr ) is where regular Kadonuls live. This area is accessible to all types of Kadonuls and is where most Kadonuls will start out before venturing out into the Void. It houses several key landmarks, such as Memoria Lake and the Lost Woods. Landsby is also known for it's bustling night life, along with the Crimson Market that comes around every two weeks.

PLACES, EVENTS & MORE

  • Crystal Caverns ― A series of deep underground caves where void crystals are gathered. These caves start at the surface and slowly delve deeper into the Void's surface, the only light being from the glowing crystals that line the walls and ground. No one knows where these tunnels and caves come from. But maybe Dimitri knows something?

  • Lost Woods ― A dense piece of forest that sits right outside of Landsby. It's said that anyone who enters get turned around and confused, hence the name. The forest seems to be protecting something, with Lewis as it's guardian. Deep within the forest is a large orb of energy, that is speculated to be made of Mirir's last remaining power.

  • Memoria Lake ― A somewhat dark and mysterious lake, with a quaint white lakehouse on it's banks. There are several warnings about swimming in the lake due to it's memory wiping powers. What happens when a being made of memories...gets erased? Nothing good.

  • Old Farmhouse ― Looking onto the horizon leading to Nowhere, you'll always find yourself staring at a remote farmhouse in the midst a barren, droughted field. Legend has it that many Kadonuls have travelled for days, even weeks, to reach the mysterious house - but it always stays at a distance; in sight, yet unattainable.

  • Crimson Market ― A local market that opens every two weeks under the cover of darkness. Despite it's name, it's a rather cheery occasion, where Kadonuls from all over the Void arrive to sell their wares.

HIMLEN

Also known as the city in the sky, Himlen ( him - lin ) is made up of a series of floating black islands which the Aeronuls have turned into a home. Situated high above the ground on a series of floating islands, Himlem is only accessible to those who have wings, or by shadow travel. The city is so high up that it can look like stars from the ground. The main attraction of Himlem, besides the view of the Void, are the dances held in the Palace of Eons.

PLACES, EVENTS, & MORE

  • Palace of Eons ― Despite it's gloomy appearance, the Palace of Eons is home to a mysterious group of Aeronuls that are known to throw annual balls to celebrate another year of being alive. Some speculate that the parties are being hosted by the Shatterhounds, a group of elite warriors that protect the Kadonuls from any external threats. All types of Kadonuls are welcome at these balls, and they're often several days long.

  • Flight District ― The Flight District is the main city of Himlen, and is the home of your average Aeronul. Series of homes and houses lined up next to each other like a neighborhood, with several small shops sprinkled throughout.

  • The Academy ― A school for Kadonuls, ranging from kindergarden level to university. The Academy teaches anything and everything a Kadonul might need to know, and even will train them in certain skillsets. Kadonuls are not required to attend, but many chose to for the fun of it.

  • Shatterhounds ― A collective group of elite warriors that protect the Kadonul species from any kind of threat, both internal and external. The force is made up of Aeronuls, Aquonuls and Kadonuls. Shatterhounds are required to graduate from the Academy, and potential trainees are often often approached by recruiters during their studies.

VANDPYT

Deep beneath the void's oceans, you will find the city of Vandpyt ( vahn - purt ), home of the Aquonuls. The city is entirely underwater, and is only populated by Aquonuls. Kadonuls and Aeronuls may visit from time to time, using special gear made by Aquonuls, but never for extended periods of time. The tunnel opens up, a hidden underwater city is revealed, brightened by glowing algae and various sea animals.

PLACES, EVENTS, & MORE

  • City of Vandpyt ― The biggest city of Vandpyt, complete with it's own shops and homes. While the area is not as easily accessible by regular Kadonuls and Aeronuls, it is heavily populated with Aquonuls who have their own little slice of paradise hidden away from the rest of the Void.

  • Catacombs ― A series of underwater tunnels and caves, about 75% of which is undiscovered. Aquonuls are advised against entering, lest they get lost and never return. No one knows who or how they were made, nor what is at the end of them. For now, the Aquonul division of the Shatterhounds has blocked off the area to the public.

  • Davy Jones' Locker ― A graveyard for Kadonuls of all types, and is one of the few occasions where a Kadonul or Aeronul will venture into the water's depths. When a Kadonul passes, they dissolve into ashes, only leaving behind their cores (even corrupted Kadonuls who lost their cores!). Davy Jones' Locker contains small graves for each core, and is attended to by Aquonuls.

  • Gravekeeper ― No one knows their real name, and they're often compared to a Spectre, but the Gravekeeper is often spotted cleaning up graves and chasing off marine life from disturbing the dead.

HUSKE DAGEN

The month of July is a special month for Kadonuls. Dubbed Huske Dagen, also known as the Day of Remembering, the month is usually spent celebrating with loved ones with lots of good food, music and parties. The name might imply that it is only a singular day that is celebrated, but to the Kadonuls, no day is more special than the other, and the entire month is spent celebrating.

HUSKLINGS GROTTO

Not many dare to venture this far into the Lost Woods, even with a guide. If you walk past Lewis's cabin, you might find yourself falling victim to the beasts known as Husklings. The Husklings Grotto is a section of the Lost Woods where Husklings were first discovered. It's a large clearing hidden by magic, and illuminated by the light of Mirir's Orb. The Husklings have made their home around the orb, protecting it as the natural guardians of the Void.
